From 24 May 2022 until 30 June 2022, the Queensland Government will be offering free influenza vaccinations to all Queenslanders over 6 months of age, now available at Labrador Park Medical.
PROCESS
Queenslander with Medicare
Prior to your flu vaccination, you will be seen by a doctor to assess your health status and to receive consent for the flu jab. GP consultations are bulk-billed for the Flu Vaccination.
Queenslanders without Medicare
If your do not hold a Medicare card, you can still receive the flu vaccine for free, however you will be billed privately for your consultation with the GP prior to your vaccination.
If you are a part of the National Immunisation Program (NIP), you can get your free flu jab at our medical centre.
People eligible for a free influenza vaccination through NIP include:
People aged 65 years and over
Pregnant women (at any stage during pregnancy)
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 6 months and over
All children aged 6 months and over to less than 5 years
People aged 6 months and over with certain medical conditions that increase their chance of severe influenza and its complications.
The influenza vaccination can be received at the same time as a COVID-19 vaccination dose.
